I think most of the film was hilarious except i was waiting for something pivotal to happen then it ended. Didnt really have a storyline.

There's a thin person in every fat person.....that's because they just ate them.
I thought it was very funny, and that Bill Murray was brilliant, but I didn't think the story was all that good. Still, it really made me want to go back to Japan, my wife got fed up with me going "I've been there! I've been there!".
Rich :¬)
Yeah, maybe thats why it didn't appeal much to me. Movies kinda confuse me when there's little or no story line! I'm always trying to understand the story in a movie, but when there is none, my brain fries trying to think of one! (does that make sense??)
Apparently its been nominated for an oscar or something! And so has Bill Murray!
i thought it was great, the sexual tension in the film was incredible, and the fact it didn't include any of the normal romantic comedy crap was a nice change! I swear if i have to see Hugh Grant stammer his way thru anymore oh so hilarious outrageous situations ill puke!
My mate said she'd never left a film feeling so sexually frustrated in her life, and i have to agreee. This is the ultimate film to take a date too, and atleast ur mates won't slag ye like the time u took mingin Michele to ur local multi-plex for Love actually and all ye got was a large popcorn! lol
Lost In translation is not a film.
It is a story, and a great one at that. I agree that I was waiting for something pivotal to happen – which was never forthcoming. But how many films do we see where after 30 minutes you could correctly identify the ending? To many, or just about every single Hollywood blockbuster that seems to make TOO much money. It left me with a good feeling at the end, that I have been to see something so original. It is directed beautifully and I believe it to be one Sofia Coppola's first works, maybe a great taster of things to come. She uses the big screen, the vastness, the darkness of Tokyo, the open, the crowded spaces, the sound track(in the strip club ) to astounding effect.
Whops I’ve nearly written a review…. Great (cant say film) story 10 out of 10. I went to see it with my girlfriend, and although see said she enjoyed it I feel that she was also ‘lost in translation’.
