Congratulations to confusingcircle and Hans Voralberg, along with everyone who got fewer votes, but still too pretty pictures (and better pictures than I could do).

Yay! I got a vote....even though it wasn't technically a macro shot. Wish I'd had a decent macro lens (or even a magnifying glass) as the light on that tree sap was beautiful.

Thanks very much everyone! A real surprise to win considering the high quality of entries.
For anyone who is interested, it was taken with a Canon 20D, Sigma 70-300 APO, 430EX Speedlite and the light in my bathroom! There wasn't a lot of PP to be done, saturation was nudged up a tiny bit, and it was cropped slightly and levels adjusted. The colour of the water came from the green coloured glass the water was dripping into.
Here is another taken in the same shoot that didn't quite make it because its a little too surreal and looks almost rendered:
Roll on the next comp!

That's a cool shot....I'd have voted for that one. I didn't for your first entry 'cause the jumping drop was out of focus, but that shot's incredible.

And I just realised I can no longer use the word madness without thinking of 300, and since I can't find a suitable image for that, I'd thought I'd share this one instead. Made me piss myself.

I'd now like to apologise to everyone for having such a massive picture, the earwig one, i used microsoft paint to crop it, altered the attributes to below 480 pixels tall, but saved it as a bmp, so i opened up the picture again cropped it and saved it as a jpeg, completely forgetting to resize it so that's why it was so big. but at least it was below 200k.
so my lesson of the day is to recheck everything and use 'office picture manager'.
and 'sair' what was it a photo of??
I think everyone did realy well on this compo, and the sheer class of the shots shone through
