Need some help with an Indesign Document

Hello Chaps,

I'm creating a 300 page PDF catalogue for work using Indesign. I need a little menu running along the top of every page for navigation purposes, but don't want the menu at the top to print.

I've tried using the 'non print' option in attributes but it still prints when a PFD, and when I use interactive buttons, when converted to PDF, I get a message saying 'I have to complete the form'.

**Using interactive buttons worked when I did a test of 4 - 5 pages, but when I convert the whole thing, thats when I get this message come up.

I know im probably being very stupid here, but can anyone shed some light over this, its starting to stress me out
