    Well, ultimate fail.

Was recording two things at once, one finished and I went to switch to Sky Premier, but it crashed the box. Lost the HD recording

Re: Sky HD on its way....

Anytime won't appear until it has the content, usually a couple of days or so, sometimes longer. All depends on how long you leave the box idle. If you're constantly using it, it can't get the content copied.

If the box doesn't have the latest firmware, Anytime may not appear until an over-the-air update. Or you could force the update yourself, which is simple to do. Wouldn't do that yet though, I'd give it a chance

Regarding taping two things and watching one, there's a number of ways that can catch you out. If you leave the box on a channel other than one of the two you're taping, you should get a warning, but if you don't, and don't change the channel, it'll fail.

If you're taping two shows, one immediately after another, on different channels, that can screw things up too. Say you have something like a movie taping from 8-10. One tuner used. Then if you have something from 8-9, then something different from 9-10, it probably won't play ball, as the show finishing at 9, and the show starting at 9 will often overlap, meaning that you'd need 3 tuners for the 3 channels. So, as you only have 2, it'll go in a huff.

A lot of people go into the box settings and add 5 minutes onto recordings, "just to make sure". All that makes sure of is that shows overlap ! My missus is pretty bad for this, then when the warning box pops up she panics and just stabs at random buttons until the warning disappears. What she should do is manually end one of the recordings (by pressing the record button on the relevant channel), that way I wouldn't have had half of TV Burp, and half of the F1 preview to watch tonight Grrrr.

But sometimes, it'll just fail, as with anything with an HDD and software ! It's worth calling Sky occasionally, as they'll check your error codes and check everything is ok otherwise. But now and again you'll simply have to resort to the old advanced unplugitandplugitinagain re-boot.

Also, Aquariavision was on tonight, that should have been taped ! Arguably the best PQ SkyHD has to offer. It's extremely soothing, and is good with a bottle of wine, or several bottles of wine... "Coooooool fishies, look at the pretty colours, whoah ! Giant turtle, cooooool" etc. etc.

One other thing, if you got the box on a deal, it may have been a refurb, sometimes worth calling to check. They're within their rights to give you one, and often they're more reliable than a new one.
