No real difference from my 10D, but any excuse. Some shots I picked up yesterday.

Fantastic photos as usual
Your daughter loves getting her photo taken doesn't she?
Whats the dish at the end? looks yummy, but then so do the pancakes.
crank it upto 800 and above and you'll see a real difference
auto focus is quicker as well.. and you have a bigger image buffer for capturing a sequence

Thanks
It's not so much that she loves it, as much as she's always got me or someone else taking her picture. She does kiddy modelling for mothercare, Bhs, Woolworths, stuff like that, and loves getting made up and having her hair done. I reckon we're going to pay for it when she's older, but her mum loves it, and since she's getting about £75 an hour, that's university paid for
The dish is tagliatelle tossed in the juices from a roast chicken, with the chicken shredded and mixed with sultanas soaked in wine (I think) and pine nuts. Plus a little finely chopped parsley and rosemary. Seasoned to taste.
My wife's starting a food journal/blog (she's a fairly accomplished chef) and is getting me to take the pictures so she can post them up. The pancakes are fantastic too....

I noticed how quick the multi frame capture was....but I've only got some crappy Fuji CF card, which I'm sure is bottlenecking it a little, so just waiting for my Extreme IV to come through to play with it.
I had a play with the H (3200) ISO the other night and was suprised how much detail was available, but since I no longer have the 10D I can't do an out and out comparison over the 800 mark.
Good news is that it turns out we were covered by insurance, and I've got a 40D and replacement Tamron 17-50 on it's way......whoooohoooo. So now I've got a 40D and a backup 20D. Couldn't be better.

The tagliatelle sounds fantastic (I can see what it is now you say) although I would leave out the sultanas.
You lucky begger!
It would be interesting to see some direct comparisons between the 20D and 40D.
believe me its like night and day!
thats a relief!
they're pretty well matched upto 800, then the 40D breaks free (the buttons have changed on the 40D compaired to the 20D)
where the 40D will shine is with Tone Priority Mode and the 14bit RAW (more shadow details)

Looking forward to getting my hands on it sooooo much. Primarily so I can see the images on the beautifully huge screen, and then so I can play with the multi shuture capture, the Tone Priority and see what those big ass RAW files look like....
I'm just wondering if a Canon 40D bought in HK will be eligible for the Canon UK cashback. Probably not, huh?

corrected, its not that sharp a picture because of the large pixels.. you'll actually get a better image on the 20D's LCD
for the price you'll save anyway, it will make Canon's cash back offer look like you're getting a fiver off when i was shopping for another body @ xmas, i found a 40D+battery grip = £670!

I haven't checked this offer, but the previous one stipulated that it only applied to goods first sold by Canon in the European Economic Area, IIRC. They didn't clarify quite what that meant, but I read it to mean that when Canon sold it to a distributor, that distributor was in the EEA. And if this deal is the same (and mu guess is it is), and if that's what they meant, then the answer is no.
Best bet - ring Canon UK and ask.
