    Mojo's view on Terminator 3

Sorry Knox, but your thread has got so long (3 Pages ) I'm not sure as many people would read it if I posted there.

(this isnt a revenge for you doing the same to my thread )

Well I went to see the new Terminator movie today and after reading other comments and reviews I was expecting a fun action movie which isnt on par with the original Terminator or even the sequel, T2.

I went in with my sweet popcorn and sprite and sat on the back row (bad choice, the light from the projector was shining on me) and enjoyed the movie.

I loved the opening to this film, John Conner's voice over and then showing Judgement day and the rise of the machines. The machines looks brilliant as they just go accross the battlefield, and John Conner standing on a destroyed ship with the resistance around him. Good scenes!

The rest of the film just didnt have the same feel as the original Terminator - which if you havent guessed is my favourate. The music wasnt as cool for a start! The original was far more tense and frightening! The idea that it was an unstoppable killing machine versus a human - thats just brilliant. How can the good guys win?? A chase movie that is so tense your actually relieved when you get a break and they start having sex!
T3 however, is just a run-of-the-mill action movie. I'll give Arnie credit as I thought he was brilliant as The Terminator (i know, i know a role that he created but...) as his movements and speech seemed more robotic that both his previous efforts! His receding hairline though didnt do him much justice.
The car chase I thought was reasonably good. I wasnt hugely impressed with the one in The Matrix Reloaded and I think the one in T3 was just as good! Good effects to; the ruck flipping over looked better than the truck exploding in Reloaded.
The special effects were good, which is what we would expect from a big budget blockbuster sequel! The machines looked good in all their shapes and forms and so did the CGI Arnie when he was putting his head back on!

The acting was good by most people. As I have already said, Arnie still looks the part
Nick Stahl. I havent seen him in anything else as far as I know but I do recognise him - i dont know where from! I thought he was good though, a brilliant young actor! He can handle himself in action scenes and looks cool in his thuggish costume.
Claire Danes. Ever since Little Women my sister has taught be to hate this little woman! I do think she is really annoying but I suppose she can act. But only just! I aint biased!
T-X. Boy was she sexy! She didnt act overly brilliant but then again, she was playing a Terminator! But she did look hot! When she was wearing that military costume at the Sky Net HQ she looked hot...did I mention she was attractive?
Most of the supporting roles in there were well acted, Danes' father role and he fiancé were good.

Storywise I liked it. I like humans vs machines stories. There are so many, but this one is still brilliant! I love the whole Judgement Day thing and them attempting to end it but discovering the inevitability of it. That kind of ending was need IMO because it showed that the war with the machines had to happen and people who accuse it of being to open ended are just being moanful because it had to be like that! The war and judgement day has to happen. And it did. Sure, a sequel is indeed possible and I think it would be brilliant set during the war. And if not a brilliant film - good fun non the less! Much like this movie!

Don't go in expecting a masterpeice, but dont go in expecting rubbish! Just enjoy the movie. Its good fun.

I thought it was a great film and will be going to see it again no doubt

One or two to many attempts at jokes though for my liking.

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

Yea, very dry jokes if you ask me to!

Those sunglasses at the start. I didnt laugh at that!

It just wasnt dark enough for me. the first film was so dark which is what I like about it!

IMHO it was rubbish, why does skynet want to distroy the human race? Plus once the war started what was going to power the machines? Skynet is gonna need energy to build stuff??????

    PS
    The chase scene is vgood

    PPS
TX was distroyed way to easy the same as T2

The storyline is not poor! Its a great storyline! The storyline was great in the first Terminator and this is just a continuation of it with added story strands.

I want to, but im not getting into this argument again.

I agree with 90% of the stuff you've said Mojo! Nice review You're right about everything but the funny stuff imo, but then, i was thinking as he put the glasses on "oh come on, how many times has this been done before?" Then he put on the elton john ones and it was funny cause i didnt expect it The "talk to the hand" bit was crap though, as was the lack of gore (i WANTED to see the TX chop up her boyfriend and kill the women in the car and the cop! GORE GORE GORE!!) and darkness like you said.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

skynet wants to destroy humans because we are the enemy, we're the only creatures capable of destroying skynet hence we must be destroyed.

The machines ain't very likely to be destroying they're own power supply are they

the chase scene was ok, nothing special though.

and the T1000 in T2 took some destroying!

Its not that much of a cliff hanger. The war with the machines was inevitable.
