i am guessing this is to make it multi region?

i have a philips 634 dvd and all it required was a code to make it multiregion
most require a code, mine did theres no point risking breaking it and paying, when its free easy and simple, theres loads than can do be done multi from codes entered via remote

Yeah, Techtronics should do it but they aren't that cheap really. Other than that, I'm not sure.

I got a chip for my Sony from here for about £20. It was simple soldering job to fit it.
I can't see Onkyo listed either for chipping, or chip-free recoding. Is it another player rebadged?
cheers guys. onyko isnt a rebranded player they are quite high end stuff like tag and nakachimi if thats the write spelling. picked mine up in a sale for a bargain price. the player is already region free i have just discover the problem is that the tv is pal only. so its new tv time
