    Smile Shooting tips please

    Hello all again
Im off to the local bird of prey center tomorrow and really looking forward to getting some great pics of these amazing birds.
They do flying shows with kites, eagles, vultures, owls etc and Im really hoping to get some great pics but im worried im going to mess some up due to settings etc.
What would you recomend my settings be at. Im thinking it depends of weather, lighting etc but say its a decent sunny day would I be right in saying that i would need to be on continuous focus mode (for the flying shows),approx iso of 400,1/100 approx shutter speed,f4 -f12 ap with no flash ?
some of you know im new to this but sorry if these are silly questions and totally wrong lol
I'll be using sigma 300mm lens by the way

unless you are accomplished at panning with low shutter speed, look for hitting about 1/500

for things like this on my grandfathers 35mm i always found it much easier to use a shutter priority. the light levels have a habbit of changing so quickly depending on what is behind the animal, i would always screw it up on manual.

Thanks buddy, i was toying with the idea of just using the shutter priority setting but in my head i like to make things more complicated than they have to be lol. which explains why i was going to use manual settings in the hope that i could get the perfect picture by constantly playing with the settings.
