    Cool.

Can we set up a new thread (sticky?) then for the actual comp - with the rules at the top.

I think the monthly time limit would be good and eventually some sort of 'theme' each month which could be something specific like e.g. 'trees' or something open to a bit more interpretation like e.g. 'green'.

Having said that, we I think we should probably start of without any themes to get the ball rolling.

preventing any processing in photoshop is silly as it would preclude shooting in raw!

    As long as I can use a 50mm f/1.7 rather than a f/1.8 then I'm in

I'd like to post a photo or two if I can, but I only have the Sigma 50/1.4. Of course I can stop it down to 1.8, but if the point is to show what you can get with a cheap nifty fifty, I suppose it excludes the siggy?

because you have to process a raw file to export it into a format such as jpeg or tiff. A raw file has no presets such as white balance, contrast etc just the 'raw' information

limiting editing in software is fine but to ban it completely is silly

Some processing was allowed in pervious photo competitions. search for "photo challenge" in this forum and you will see the threads by Nick F and Shiato Storm from a few years ago.

ACR isn't the only RAW conversion tool

I think the Minolta retailed for the same sort of price bracket as the current Nifty-Fifties in which case yes ?

As the Sigma is circa £250 like the Canon 50/1.4 I would have thought it would be out ?
