Kill Bill Vol.2 (SPOILER THREAD DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANNA KNOW)

I loved it, not as fast paced as the first admittedly, but a great ending, especcially they way bill talked for a few minutes before he took his 5 steps, it was a different style than the usual QT i think, but it worked very well, and the tension is amazing, i mean to me it was obvious that the money was booby trapped but i didnt expect the snake :O

    i loved it

I thought it was really very boring. I wasn't a big fan of the first one, it was all plagiarized cinematography and spoof like fighting. The martial arts were even a bit crap (compared to something like Hero). I thought that volume 2 was so long a protracted and just plain dull. Nothing in it suprised me (even the ending was obvious) and the training section (which could have been the best bit) was terribly naff and really not very funny; a cheesy fast zoom in and man stroking his beard is funny maybe only once. I think the training story in Kickboxer with Jean Claude Van Damme was better, and that's a Channel 5 B Movie.

    All in all dissapointed, again.

Sorry wasn't clear but I know he's referencing old kung fu movies, but I just wish that Tarrantino could have an original thought (cinematography wise) rather than just stealing other peoples. But I can see why you liked it Russ, there was a mix of styles but for me he was like an average DJ, he can pick a few good tunes, but he can't do anything special with them (like Soulwax do with their mixing ).

Absolutely. Anyone seen the box set to "what inspired Kill Bill"? Most notably "Lady Snowblood"; it seems like half the movie is ripped straight out. I spose there's only so much you can do, but it felt like he was trying too hard to make it something epic.

I wanted more of the Pai Mei training though, and i did enjoy the fight scenes (even though killing Bill was disappointingly short). The fighting was decent, and well choreographed.. what little there was of it in this one, but you expect it to be a bit B movie-ish considering the main influence is Jap "B" movies.

"You bitch ill kill you, you stole my eye!" HAHAHA

I almost fell asleep, literally, but thats probably to do with watching the first one just before getting in my car to see this one, and being knackered anyway. Didn't really think it was anything all that special, but wasn't disappointed. it might have just been me being half asleep but wasn't the whole training thing labelled "chapter 8" but the part where she breaks out of the coffin (using the training) after being buried was "chapter 6". Probably just me getting it wrong but it confused me.

I enjoyed Vol. 1 much more myself. Felt that the only thing keeping me from falling asleep in the Vol. 2 was the amount of cheesiness involved

Watched volume 1 a couple of weeks back and was trying to work out 2 things that bugged me:
    i) why do people think Uma Thurman is sexy?
ii) why do people think Kill Bill is a fantastic movie?

I love Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, and From Dusk Till Dawn was a fun movie (even more of a shocker for me as I saw that at the cinema with no clue as to what it was about!)... but Kill Bill just seemed so very average.

There were good bits in volume 1, but it wasn't consistently entertaining to me.

Volume 2 was about 90 minutes too long.
I was in serious danger of falling asleep during it.
Everything seemed so horribly protracted, and not in a "suspense" kind of way which I assume was the intention.

A very sincere let-down by Mr QT, considering his previous works.
And yes, even though I wasn't that enamoured by volume 1, I had to watch volume 2 for completion (or maybe "closure" is the right word).

    Edit:
I can't spell "suspense" for some reason.
