Corrupt images on SD card (and hello)

since i cant post a question in the welcome forum i thought i'd say hello here, hi , whilst asking my question, a little cry for help

i have an sd card which, when in my camera displays all the images perfectly but, once i connect the camera to transfer, or put the card into my pc card reader, a good 20/25% of the near 700 images are all messed up, cut up, mis-coloured or cant be opened due to damage or corruption

my question is, does anybody no of any freeware/software i can buy which can repair corrupt images?

ive scoured the net and tried jpeg recovery 5 demo version and not one of the images i tried repairing, had been repaired

    thanks in advance

    john

Can you tell us the software you're trying already? What program are you using to import/display the images? Do you get any error messages? What file format does the camera use?

ive tried stellar phoenix photo recovery and jpeg recovery 5, let both scan my memory card and selected the corrupt images, all outcomes were just as miscoloured or cut up as they were before the attempted repair

the file format is JPEG. i dont use any software to pull the photo's from the camera/card reader itself, just cut n paste, view the photo's with windows live photo gallery or PS CS2

    thanks for the reply
