iTunes and lossless downloads

Any idea whether I can download lossless music from iTunes? (FLAC? ALAC?)

I haven't got iTunes at current and wondered if anyone new the answer before I install the monstrosity from Apple.

Is there anywhere on the net with a good catalogue or lossless legitimate downloads. Amazon? or similar.

Apple don't do lossless. If they did it would be in ALAC.

There are a few places that do lossless downloads, but they tend to have very limited and very specialist catalogues. For example Linn have a music store with lossless high resolution files, it's just whether you like their content or not.

You might be better having a search, or ask on AVforums or Hydrogenaudio forums.
