    Evanescence.........................

and the total ownage of Birmingham NEC Arena.

Its difficult to know where to start, I could bang on for ages about how simply stunning this band are, in fact the whole event was one of those days you just KNOW!! You are going to talk about in 30 years time , I felt privelaged to have been there. We arrived nice and early, parked dead easy Went in bought tour teashirts for Kids and found our seats top row, saw good warm up band Hoobst... something or other, then second surport band rocks and half way through their set on comes Amy and sings a duet with him and your left totally blow away..........she has the voice of well?? youve heard her well shes better live and then she leaves and the band rock on, your all disappointed she left but the band more than make up for it and do a great set, slightly Nivarna about them.

Then Evanescence come on and for and hour and a quarter have the jam pack place screaming thier heads off for more the energy this band all give off is infectious your jumping and yelling with several thousand others. They didnt miss a note every great song youve heard of thiers becomes a incredible master piece moving you, the ballards are heart rending and the rock has you for more . And yes Amy is fit and the set is seamless from start to the 5 minute standing ovation ending with the crowd chanting AMY!! AMY!! over and over till they came out and did another two.

All I can finish with is to say if you ever get the chance to see them live take it even if you only vaguely like them . All ages from 5 to 60 loved every minute of it

Saw them at Brixton last year and they were awesome. It's just a shame they are playing such big venues now

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

I was there last nite too =)
just gotta correct you on a few things tho =)
Hoobstank didnt turn up for the BHM gig - it was Gliteratti =)

Second support was Seether - Amy Lees' boyfriends band, they were pretty cool imho, kinda like a cross between StainD and Linkin Park - and they tried a cover of Nirvanas
'You Know You're Right' but they didnt do it justice..hate it when inferior bands try to copy the great legends..but still The duet with Amy was good - and she looked sooo much hotter in jeans an Tshirt than her goth gear =)

Evenescence themselves were almost perfect as per usual - no one can say that amy cant sing (or play piano ). The crowd were lovin it, and the atmosphere in standing was pretty good for this kind of band. they came back for 2 encores, the first didnt fit amys voice at all, but she recovered with the last song

My only gripes with the gig would be that the NEC aint the best venue really; there were FAR too many little kids in standing which does dull the atmosphere a bit; and the set was exactly the same as the live CD i have of them..but still it was worth the money =) Not a patch on the offspring gig tho but thats to be expected

I have only heard Seether's own stuff, and i think its really good, kind of grungey. They are also from my home country, so I do pay more attention to them!

I agree. she does have a beautiful voice, but sometimes I wish she would shut up so I can hear some of the instruments! Her voice is very over powering. I suppose, if i heard them live, my opinion would probably change.
