Kindle Fire, import ok?

Hey,

I have a friend coming back from the US, can you think of any reason why a Kindle Fire wont work over here?

It appears they havent released it here yet

Just reading about it seems that the Kindle Fire needs to be registered in the US and also connected in the US first time but then a handful of features won't work outside the US.

Just speaking to an Amazon.com agent on their live chat, they are saying you could use it and buy US content but thats it so half the cloud features etc will not work outside the US as the device checks to see which country it's used in when you connect to the store.

You could have it connecting to a US VPN by default of course, in which case it'd act as normal.
