Help with 3D

Hi guys need a little help. recently bought a

Ati 6950
Yamaha RXV 671
Panasonic 50ST30

now i got these not only to upgrade but to watch 3D.

The way my setup is linked is a hdmi lead from my pc to my receiver and another hdmi lead from receiver to tv.

However when trying to play a blu ray 3D iso in arcsoft totalmedia 5 the tv doesn't pick up that a 3D signal is being sent which means the tv doesn't sync in for me to use the active shutter glasses. Can anyone help me? No idea what's wrong.

Do other 3D DVDs play correctly?

Not when played on the pc. i converted the video to sbs and that worked but I've no idea why the iso won't work. i set my 3d output display as a hdmi 1.4 3d TV but now arcsoft keeps crashing to desktop.

i also still have arcsoft totalmedia 3 and when i play the 3d blurry iso on it, at the menu it says it cannot pickup a 3d device and so it will only let me play it in 2d.

What a pain it really should be easier than this.

Well the receiver should be capable of 3D passthrough. And the 6950 should be capable of transmitting 3D.

It's not clear to me from the TotalMedia docs that it's capable of sending frame-packed 3D over HDMI though. PowerDVD 11 makes it clear on http://www.cyberlink.com/products/po...ort_en_US.html but Arcsoft seems to list a set of specific TVs which work with AMD HD3D or NVIDIA 3D Vision, with no mention of HDMI 1.4, on http://www.arcsoft.com/totalmedia-theatre/techspec.html

Now another hitch

I bought Thor 3D today.

I updated my PS3 to latest firmware and it is connected to my amp which is connected to my tv.

I went through the display settings again on my PS3 and it installed tv as a 3d capable tv.

However when putting Thor 3D on the tv does not recognise a 3d signal being sent which means i cant use the glasses or the 3D.

Don't know what's wrong :S

Well got 3d working from ps3 but still not on pc. Powerdvd cant recognise an iso file mounted in daemon tools and arcsoft just crashes to desktop rather than work :/

Are you using an HDMI 1.3a or greater cable?

does the TV have a 3d button, my samsung does and supposedly some formats need you to hit that button, copied formats rather than bluray tho.

Only way to check the cables afaik is to connect your ps3 direct to the tv with each cable, see how it works out, if not it may be the amps fault.

yea mate cables are fine. It does have a 3d button but if the tv doesn't receive a signal of 3d it converts 2d to 3d which is awful.

For some reason the programs for p[laying 3d on the pc just aren't working correctly. No idea how to fix it.

You need to choose your type of 3D display from the 3D settings in the player software.

AMD HD3D Technology - Select this option if your display is a HDMI 1.4 3DTV or a 120Hz LCD Display
