In the UK at least. Can't find alternatives. And I hate HP's ink prices.
The Americans have a few Canons available but can't find them here.
Its been 2 years!! Come on

afaik its about the drivers that are supported by the iPad not printer model... Got forked-daapd running which supports AirPlay/AirPrint, iPad can see the printer and print whatever it needs but it comes as bunch of random characters. Clearly a printer driver issue.

This Apple Support link detailing which printers support AirPrint might help too. :-)
Some epson's support air print nowadays.
I had a look around, this is the printer to get, mega cheap refills on ebay (A whole set, all colours & black, 2 for £12). This is a similar spec to my £200 Canon printer, but much cheaper.

Dunno about AirPrint, but other than that, best deal. Maybe AirPrint just isnt worth it
According to this review the MG6150 supports printing from ipad/android and PS3 (?)
2 sets of refills for £12:auto-opening output tray, as well as two 150-sheet input trays.
It prints two-sided and straight onto CDs and DVDs with the provided adapter
It all connects via USB, Ethernet or 802.11n Wi-Fi, the latter of which is compatible with printing from a host of devices such as Android handsets, iPhones and iPads, and even the Sony PlayStation 3:

Cool , hit the nail on the head then.
Thats the one I'll recommend to ppl from now on
Some of the Photosmarts are also quite inexpensive to run - e.g. I've got one of the fancy eStation models (the one with the detachable 7" Android tablet) and my last ink bill was around £40. That's for a full set (five) of the "XL" carts. Each cart can be bought (retail) for about £8. To put that into perspective that's half the cost of my previous printer (Canon Pixma IP5200R)
The other way you can save a little bit of money is to have a friend who works for HP, the do offer some niggardly discounts for "Friends and Family" - but to be honest most of the time a Google Shopping search comes up better.
(Disclaimer: yes I do work for HP, but: (a) don't hold that against me; and (b) I don't work for the bit that does hardware)
Personally though, I still like Canon printers (and cameras)!
Went with the HP 5510, noisy, but the cheapest of the HP refills I could find, £15/set. Airprint did work nicely though.
