    Asus Xonar D2/PM & Headset

    Hello everybody,

I have just purchased an Asus Xonar D2/PM as my on board sound is dud. I'm going to purchase a 2.1 system for listening to music but I want to get a new gaming headset to make use of this soundcard. I currently have a Corsair HS1 and I'm looking at the Sennheiser PC320.

Can anyone recommend a better headset for a similar price? (<£70)

    Many thanks!

Honestly, you're going to get better sound quality per £ if you get a standalone set of headphones and mic. I can understand the appeal of a headset but the main purpose of it is to reproduce sound, which headphones like Sony MDR-V6 or Shure SRH-440 are going to do much better, and from my experience are comfier for long sessions. A £10 mic from amazon would match up well.

I advised my friend to get the Beyerdynamic DT234Pro's a couple of years back and he loves them. Beyer also make the MMX2 now which seems good for USB to bypass the soundcard.
