    HTPC Soundcard

Im currently using the optical out from the motherboard going into my Onkyo amp for my HTPC.

I was wondering is it better to get a soundcard and put my sound through that? Would one with HDMI be better?

Or shall i just wait till i get a GXT 580 and run all the sound through that and its HDMI?
