What song do YOU think is the saddest?
For me, it's Evanescence - Hello. Such a great combination... piano and amy's voice. Very poigniant.
I wouldnt say it was my saddest song(s), but any song by radiohead makes me want to kill myself, thats pretty sad.
NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, GBA, DS, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3 60gb, XBOX, XBOX 360, Master System, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, PC Engine, Neo Geo CD
What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong... chokes me up.. its association with the end of Hitch hikers guide. and it is a fantastic song.
Something Corporate - Konstantine always gives me a bit of a lump in my stomach. Dunno why though. Lol

if we are goin for break-up songs, 'Last Song I ever write about a girl' by The Ataris is guaranteed to get the tears flowing. apart from that, i cant really think of many sad songs i know. 'Dry your eyes' is my current favourite tear-jerker tho, seeing as i've been banned for life from listenin to Nick Drake after i foned my m8 at 3am threatening to kill myself after listenin to it :S.
if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question
2 things i hate the most - xenophobia and the french
"chuffing"
Goo goo dolls - iris
metallica - fade to black
creed - with arms wide open
Jimmy Eat World - Hear You, Hear Me.
How its not top of the funeral tracks I will never know....

Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
Tell me there's a heaven - Chris Rea
gets me every time.
The Verve - Drugs don't work
Attach some shoddy personal memories to it for the full effect. Not to mention the thought of that cat.... that cat in a bag... *flaps hands at face and runs off*

Stevie wonder - lately
(The song was based on his wife having an affair, and his fears of losing her and then realising that he was..)
It gets me every time i hear it, as if feel i can hear his emotions in the song and to be honest i feel it pulls at my soul or heart strings to.
And those talking of Radiohead the song 'Street spirit' feels me with sadness.
And also Elton john - 'Daniel' a song about missing someone who has passed on.
Off top of me head, D'Angelo - Ain't no Sunshine
(The melodramatic strings in the background do it for me.)
That Mr Blobby song that was Christmas no 1 once. Now that was S.A.D.!
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Some good ones mentioned already - street spirit needs more praise, I won't bother to try and convert the anti-Radioheadites with anything else...but if you're looking for the sad stuff....(Nice Dream), Let Down,
fade to black, yes, would agree apart from the energetic ending. ain't no sunshine...yes, definitely, agree wholeheartedly there. Could cope with Iris/Hello if I could listen to either evanescence/goo goo dolls without wanting to destroy them (no flames please :-( )...you ought to check out colourblind by counting crows if you like piano sad stuff, I think (also the silverchair listed later).
personally, I'd list:
A Perfect Circle - Three Libras
Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Phonics - I Stopped to Fill My Car Up (wussy as hell, but gets me everytime)
Doves - Reprise (most of the stuff off Lost Souls is equally sad/brilliant)
Opeth - Dirge For November
Every single song off the latest 'tallica album (just because they're so goddamn bad)
There's a few borderlines...I always find Protection (Massive Attack) a bit of a downer, couple of silverchair tracks are fairly depressing (Emotion sickness/Miss you love - the first one isn't quite as sickly)...this is where I think it gets a bit subjective though - I want to list Eye/Soma by the Smashing Pumpkins here as well, as well as some weezer tracks (blue album stuff), and a track called the Recluse, by Cursive - these arguably don't sound sad, but they do to me.
Whew, long post...bet I've still missed some though.
