I've been offered a free 12 month subscription to Lovefilm, but I don't own an XBox, PS3 or HTPC.
If I were to accept the offer - what's the best way of viewing the movies on my TV ? Some sort of small media player I assume, but if so, which one ? Would it be networked, or would you sneakernet with a USB stick ?

A DVD/Blu-Ray player is probably simplest. Get the discs sent by post...

Not sure if media players will let you on to Lovefilm without their App.

do not go with dvd or blu ray by post, Just to many bad disc`s get sent out. i went back to my local news agent never any problems.

I am sure that if you join, they will send you a link to the software for streaming online. then you can play on TV.

Might even be apps for android or iphone.

Your unlucky m8, I've had 36 disks in the last 3 months & all have played fine.

Unless the streaming service does up to date releases I would use the mail service too and stream on demand. How did you get 12 months if you don't mind me asking.

Your PC/Laptop should have VGA/DVI/HDMI out, depending on age, just link this to your telly with the appropriate lead, and switch your telly to that input.

Ok - so download to laptop and just plug TV to laptop ? I'll give it a whirl. Cheers.

Just go to the site, click on Lovefilm Instant, choose a film, click 'Watch Now', resize it and it'll stream away... They seems to actually have some HD streams now as well...

i signed with them when my account was switched from amazon to lovefilm .... it is murder trying to cancel your account from them because i had seen all the films i wanted to see

Also be careful. I managed to cancel after a lot of hassle but then noticed a few months later they had been taking money out of my account still.
