Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence

Anybody seen this yet? The postie handed me my limited edition 'Staff Box' DVD this very morning (Thank you, Jlist!) and I can only describe the movie as beautiful; every frame perfectly crafted... Really visually stunning, even creepy in some scenes...^_^

I'd say that after first watching, the original movie might have the edge in a direct comparison, but I might well change my mind when I have a better translation (my Japanese is scrappy and the DVD has no English subs). I had to re-watch it using a bad fansub and a dictionary for reference. Haven't checked out the other DVD yet (there's two in the set)...

I was so impressed, it caused me to go out and eat lots of sushi!

Watching anime (or I guess any other content) certainly does help, but watch out for picking up too much slang! Has anybody watched S.A.C. 2nd Gig? Saw the first few and they're top-notch entertainment... Can't help but get the title music stuck in my head.

I must admit that fansubs often have better translations than -some- official releases, which is unfortunate. You can get just the subs for Innocence at the link below, even tho it says 'No Anime'...

Well, apparently it's on general release at some cinema's in the US, so hopefully a DVD won't be too far off (Subbed though, cos dubbed sucks ass)

I've never actually seen any anime thats been well dubbed; always the same type of over-acted rubbish that spoils the character of the whole thing. Subs are definate preferable tho, even if there was good dubbing...

Defo agree . . . but I have to say that Ive watched the NGE series in both Japanese sound/Eng Subs and Eng Dub, and I cant say that the subs version is that much better . . . the english version did well I think, enough for an exception to the rule
