Shawshank, Sixth Sense, Green Mile, Donnie Darko to an extent, Vanilla Sky... all great films that I own on DVD but don't watch very often, if at all.... don't want to spoil the memories I have of the first time I watched the films and was blown away by them.

Ahh, i loved Vanilla Sky, even devoted a chapter of my dissertation to it

So is the consensus that you can't watch a 'surprise ending' film a second time because it's lost it's magic? I'd happily watch some again (The Usual Suspects is a great example), because some of them don't JUST rely on the ending to make the film worthwhile (M. Night Shamylan films...)

The Magdalene Sisters and Lilja 4 Ever - both absolutely brilliant films, but too harrowing to watch more than once.

Umm ... Star Trek Nemesis. Haven't seen it since the cinema, despite having the DVD.

I gotta say that the LOTR trilogy are films that are nice to watch once on the big screen but not so sure I'd like to sit thru them again. Same goes for the Spiderman. And almost any Indian film, good to watch once but thats deffo enough.

My entry for this would be 2 fast 2 furious. Its was a waste of film reel and now its a waste of a disk imo.

I would say anything scary, like the Ring or the Eye.
Maybe watch once, for curiosity's sake... then never again!

I think the extended editions of Lord of the Rings could wear thin quite quickly too (especially if you watch them in marathon fashion).

For me, it'd probably be Phonebooth. I was absolutely blown away by that movie, and I'd like to keep that impression.
