Apparantly she is from a pretty poor, single parent family. Then she had a "big" break, if you could call it that. THe worrying thing is not that this stuff got made, but that there is obviously an audience and market for it!

JoJo is a perfect example of standard music industry crap, she's almost been genetically engineered to sell the most records possible, she's ridiculously young yet dresses and acts like she's not which means she's gonna appeal to 90% of girls out there because they're exactly the same. She's so ridiculously young that she's guaranteed media coverage especially in the states because they love child stars over there making it easy enough for her to "break america". She's 13 and naive meaning she won't have pushed the comapny to give her the best deal meaning she probably profits very little from this.

All this adds up to the record company getting a wad of cash you could choke a dinosaur with, her getting very little and the public getting someone that has no actual talent yet still sells records by the bucket load. Its the last bit of this that annoys me the most because it doesn;t seem to matter if you're talented or not anymore aslong as you can be marketed well enough to appeal to a large demographic then they'll sign you.

There are people out there with real talent playing pubs and clubs for £40 a go who'd leap at the chance to even get signed to a small label yet they can't because its no longer about the music anymore, its about the cash.

You can of course argue that it was never really about the music but it seems to gradually have gotten less and less so, it no longer matters how good you are its about how good your pr guy is and that pisses me off royally.

I became quite quite agrieved as I watched this pathetic little US Chav sing so appalingly that I am now very pleased that me and Knox weren't sat together. Cos if we had been, it would have been a torrent of abuse and things being thrown at the screen. He sees it from almost the exact same angle as me. Virtually identical thought train.

She looks young. Young girls will love her. Young lads will fancy her. She might, just might, be marketable to parents that think she is acceptable enough for "their little Roassanna" to listen to.

and that means lots and lots of dough. I had not thought of her business naivety, but I whole heartedly look forward to her bankrupt appeal being on the news next spring!
