Band Aid - What Do You Think?
What do you all think of this new band aid single? Do you think it's better/worse than the original?
I personally think it's a lot worse than the 1st one, and to be honest sound pretty bad, although I agree with the cause and the motives behind it. I just don't think that we have as many good musicians as there were 20 years ago.
we do, they're just not popular enough to be in the line up, come on, with chris martin, the darkness, busted, dizzee rascal and the thrills involved it was always gonna be bad.
its 3/4 publicity stunt and 1/4 for good causes by the looks of it. shame.

Edit: Gonna have to disagree with Knox on Chris Martin and The Thrills being bad for it though.

I personally think they've killed it...
the song was cringe worthy enough first time round (for a damned good cause tho), but now it's just plain wrong.. that rappy bit in the middle? what's that all about?
Maybe they should have altered the lyrics a bit? "Stooop George Buuuuu-ussh.. Do they know he's me-en-tal?"

So, I thought I'll listen to it objectively, disregarding all the criticisms levelled at it and take it on musical merit. You know, give it a chance.
And it's utter, utter silage!
Its OK, not my kind of thing but still bought one for charity. And has Bono got something up his arse when he sings his bit in the song!?!?!
What I want to know is how come this is such a British thing, why hasn't other countries picked up on doing their own version or are they not allowed? Can you imagine the US version with all the US stars singing!?!?!

Guess what everybody it's got to number 1, But it is for good causes.
Can I just point out that if all those rich artists involved donated 10% of thier earnings it would amount to about 6x as much money as this single would make. And they wouldnt have to make such a crappy song.
