Like gl30 said I always go for the braided cables they look and feel better and are usually better quality.

However if you want a cable with really strong clips the cable I got with my PS4 to charge the cable has the strongest clips ever, I struggle to plug it in due to the clips and it needs a good yank to get it back out.

There's no such thing as an indestructible cable, and in ~3 years all of your devices (including your laptop) will likely be USB Type C. So even if you did find a good one, you'll no longer need it in a few years.

Just grab the cheapest 5-pack you can find.

Got my anker cables a few days ago and we'll impressed with them. Cable is solid, nice and thick compared to other cables. Micro end is very good. Slim enough to fit through cut out in cases and the 2 locating clips are solid. Very well held in device. Let's see how long they last.

Re: The quest for a decent micro USB cable.

As I said before, I have loads of them. I also have the anker 5 way adapter and so far they have been spot on.
I have one thats failed but it was one that was used plugged into the device while I play games and such, so it had a lotbif strain. Strange thing is that despite failing the pins and sticking out and there is no physical signs of wear.

Edit... Actually just checked the cable and its OK... Perhaps a faulty port on the charger.

I like the Amazon one that ships with fire tablets and is devilishly expensive to buy on its own.
