avi -> dvd conversion?

Hi,

I don't really know much about this! but have a rather large (12 gig!) avi that I need to convert, compress and burn onto a DVD, preferably suitable for playing in regular dvd players (and remove 1 frame from the beginning if poss!) Its come straight off a digi camera

Anyone recommend any software for this? preferably free/trial ware, its a one off (I hope! my wedding!!)

I use Sonic MyDVD, but it came with my burner so I dont know if its free or not.
Oh and congrats on getting married

I just use Nero, does the conversion and compession on the fly and you can create basic menu's and chapter creation etc. Pick a legit copy up on eBay for around £5.

All you need to know about dvd/avi conversion and all that palarva is available from www.doom9.org. Hope that helps a bit, there's some helpful tutorials on there, and all the software you should require.
