Yea it is, cept in the box set you have the choice of watching it with the added scenes.
Alien - The directors cut
What the hell...
Alien Vs Predator = no chance
James Cameron stated he would consider writing a script for Alien 5 but only if the Alien vs Predator idea was scrapped and Im sure 20th Century Fox scrapped it to get Cameron back in the drivers seat for the Alien series after that french git Jean Pierre Jeunet messed up Ressurrection and that idiot Joss Whedon of Buffy fame wrote the worst script ever!
Tho I didnt realise Alien - Directors Cut was coming to cinema's... this the same for the UK too?
Oh and the new box set retails for around £80 or summet, and its a 9disc set with special editions and THX sound on all and also has more interviews and crap! each film is at least 2 discs!
I have the original £65 box set tho I'm tempted to sell to get this one.. oh and the deleted "Alien" scenes are on the original box set ... just not in the movie, there "special extras".

OH GOD ITS TRUE!!
sum1 PLEASE shoot W.S. Anderson b4 he makes a mess of this... like most his other films!!!!
i think this means it still may not happen
"Since this project is categorized as being in production, the data is subject to change or could be removed completely."

**Storyline Spoiler**Initial rumors had the plot following a similar story to an old Dark Horse Aliens vs. Predator comic called 'Prey'. In this version human scientists on a far away planet scheme to capture predators by growing and hatching xenomorph eggs to be used as bait for the galaxies greatest hunters. New rumors place much of the movie on Earth, specifically in underground ice caves (or an Alien pyramid of some sort) in Antarctica, with epic battles between the xenomorph and yautja alien species.**Storyline Spoiler**
Status: Pre-production stages, early script drafting, currently casting, filming to begin in Prague in October 2003.
oh and the thing about the trailer well:
As 3Dfx said James Cameron would do an Alien 5 but only if Alien VS Predator is scrapped. James Cameron and Sigourney Weaver have met and were discussing a screenplay draft for Alien 5With production on Paul Anderson's Alien vs. Predator ramping up, Cinescape reports that a teaser for the crossover film is already being prepared, and that an appropriate choice of films has been made to release the preview with: Ridley Scott's original Alien, which gets a theatrical re-release on October 29th. That's pretty quick, since the cameras won't begin rolling until sometime in October
So there you have it, might be either Alien 5 or Alien VS Predator
News too me, will have to check this out. The Alien series well the first three, are in my opinion some of the best cinematic masterpieces you will find
29th Dec release date at U.S. cinemas.
