Ben Folds - Songs For Silverman..

    Hey!..

Just recieved this album through the post today, I managed to get the CD + DVD version for a bargain price of £7.99!..

But anyways its a great album! Haven't stopped listening to it, each time the songs grow on you more and more, and the lyrics become more apparent and stick..

The DVD with interviews with Ben Folds and his current band was cool, it also contained live performances, and them recording in the studio. He also explained what alot of the tracks are about and what inspired him to write them, which is cool and was interesting.. Because when watching that and then listening to the tracks you gain the full message of the songs.

Well anyways I'm impressed with his solo album, the piano is great, the harmonies fit together nicely with various styles mixed together.. and finally the piano and drums are great together and create a large impact, and definately lift the songs.

My favourite tracks so far being 'Landed', 'Late', 'Jesusland' and 'B*****d'..(although ALL are very good!!)

Definately worth buying, and listening to, recommended!

    Whats your opinions?..

Cool thanks, I realised this existed but didn't realise it was another of his solo albums, may have to try and pick that up!.. In the interview on Songs for Silverman.. he says that on Rockin the Suburbs, he tried everything to steer away from the normal piano and drums.. Soo am I right in thinking a different but still great Ben folds sound is on this album?..

    Will look into price!..

Strange it seems to have plenty of piano and drums lol, seems strange for him to say that about the album unless he meant the piano and drums are different sounding
Very much like ben folds five, just slower paced also i consider it to be better than songs for silverman.

There are 2 other albums as well. Ben Folds 5 and whatever and ever i think they are called. The song that got me into them was 'underground' on the first album. The first time i heard a piano and bass really rock. If my ipod randoms a ben folds song on it never gets skipped!
    Not around too often!

He did four albums altogether as part of "Ben Folds Five"

    1) Ben folds five
    2) Naked Baby Photos (Basically the first album with more tracks)
    3) Whatever and ever amen
    4) The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner

    And there all very good
