The hollywood version has nothing on the original, imo. Decent film if you've got nothing to do I suppose... Samaras hair is amazing :>

I thought the remake was absolute rubbish! Wasn't this thing supposed to be scary?
Might have to get the original to watch at some point though.

Dont even watch the 1st one then!

As with those who have seen the original, how can the remake be remotely scary??? 1st time I watched the 1st one I had to mute stuff out or even switch the channel on the TV.

I watched the remake and it is seriously not a patch on the original. At all.

Sequel's coming out next year as well...
Ring 2 as in the sequel to the original, or the remake? The Original already has 2 sequels

I think they should've kept Samara's "Everyone will suffer" line (if you've seen the trailer) in the movie.
To be fair, I think the remake is actually decent.

Ring 2 (remake), from what I've heard, is going to be completely different from Ring2 (original). We'll have to see if it is a good thing or not. I think one of the main difference with the remake, is that the "supernatural" aspect of the characters has been toned down in the remake. And there is that thing with horses which wasn't in the original..

I've watched the japanese version of Ring, Ring2 and Ring 0 - note that Ring 0 is a prequel ).
There was another "sequel" called Rasen (released before Ring2), but that kinda flopped.. I've yet to watch that one.

Also.. Ring 0 is arguably the least scary of the bunch.. Then again, I don't think it was *meant* to be scary. In fact, its kinda sad..
The story centers around Sadako (who was pretty cute).. before she was thrown into the well.
    (Sadako is the japanese Samara).

Guess I am a bit of a Ring fan
I don't find it scary, but to be honest, I am extremely hard to scare.. And watched too many horror movies already
I do find the series quite interesting though.

I need to read the books...
