Harddrive recorder without a DVD drive - does such a thing exist?

I want a cheapish HDD PVR type device for recording stuff off my TV, but they all seem to have DVDRW drives. Can I get anything that only has the recording to HDD without the DVD? I also don't need it to have built in receiver of any kind, just recording to HDD plain and simple. Like sky plus, but without the decoder. I just can't afford and don't want a media PC in my living room.
I don't want anything fancy and don't want record to DVD (I already have a DVD player for playing).
Even better would be one with an ethernet port to transfer stuff to my PC and maybe even some program guide functionality, but would settle for just the recording and manual time setting.

Any idea's?

Standalone HDD recorders don't seem to exist except for TiVo.

I have one with built in FreeView though (Humax PVR8000T) and it's excellent. Simply select the program you want to record from the schedule and bingo. It's ace

you can get a cheapish box with built in freeview recorder.. have a look on richersounds or empiredirect

Well i don't mind having a decoder if the price is still good and i guess it would make recording very easy (still watch other channels on my TV's built-in DVB decoder). The reason i don't want a DVD drive is so the cost is much lower and don't really need it. That said, I will consider anything if the price is right (around or under £100 would be nice )

They don't make TiVo's any more, do they?

Being Sony, I doubt it'll be cheap...

You can certainly get them for CCTV equipment, and seen as its basically the same then you could do that at a pinch, although youre limited to compostie input.
