    Projector Choice Dillemma, Help !!!

    Hi,
I really need some help choosing between these two projectors, the Sanyo PLV-Z1, and the Sony VPL-HS10, both widescreen. It will be my first projector and I want it for watching movies and maybe playing a few games but I think mainly films.
They are both second hand. The sanyo bulb has blown but im guaranteed the projector works and have sourced a new bulb for £211.
The sony is in mint condition and I said I would pick up if i buy(about a 2 hour drive). The bulb has some useage but atleast I can se it working.

Anyway, I was gonna go for the Sanyo, but the sony came along and seems like such a great deal, plus there is the bonus that i can see it working, where as if i get the sanyo and it doesnt work I will be stuck with the bulb even though the guy will refund the projector; but he is addament it will work.

My main concern is the throw length on the Sony, I would like to use it at about 3m from the screen, and 4m max, but i am not sure if this is far enough away.

So what you think? I don't have a great deal of funds, so the sony is a bit extravagent, I originally set my range at £400 and limit at £500, the sony is all the money i have.

Projector central has a calculator to work out throw length/screen size

    http://www.projectorcentral.com/proj...ulator-pro.cfm

you should be able to see reviews of both there also

Sonys resolution is going to be much better for playing games

You might want to ask on www.avforums.com as well

Just a thought - If the guy is confident the Sanyo works, give him the details of where you found the bulb, let him buy it and if it does work, then you buy for the £386?

The Sony has enough res for HDTV (well 720p at least) so I'd say it'd be worth stumping up the extra.
