Best film you saw this month

Mine was a great comedy film called Sideways.

Tag line: In search of wine. In search of women. In search of themselves.

Two men reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment, embark on a week long road trip through California's wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle. Not the most gripping plot outline I admit but it's a great film none the less!

Do you have any recommendations for a film you've seen lately? post it up I dont want to miss it

Saw Million Dolar Baby for the first time this month. Completely not what i was expecting (which was rocky but with a bird). I recommend that, but it's a bit of a tear jerker at the end. Very sad but good.

TBH, there have been very few films recently i have really enjoyed that much and i get tonnes of films through ScreenSelect. Quite enjoyed Ray.

    tough one, theres been a few interesting things out for me for different reasons;

Really enjoyed closer, and surly every man on the planet must be able to see parts of their own life in Jude Law and Clive Owens charecter. Nice to see a play become a film in such a good way.

Episode 3, love it or hate, it doesn't matter this was the end of the saga and "the circle is now complete". I enjoyed it and for me it was a little bit special as it completed something thats long been a fantastic story and had people talking/guessing/wanting.

War of the Worlds - for similar reasons as above, the musical is fantastic, and everyone has their own ideas in their head of how they visualise the story, the origional film was a "good plot" and actually quite well done, but it lacked budget and the technology to remain true to the story to a degree, it was for me long awaited and exciting to see what modern film making could and would do with this story, and to see how speilberg visualised it in his mind (from the view point of a great director)

There has been a few films I've enjoyed and just watched but the above three stand out to me as worth while pictures for positive or negative reasons
    It is Inevitable.....

Sideways was brilliant, as was Million Dollar Baby and also Closer! 3 brilliant films released within weeks of each other.

As for the cinema's current releases:-

    1. History of Violance - weird, weird, weird. Can't believe that its had good reviews.
    2. 40 Year Old Virgin - amusing in an American Pie sort of way.
    3. Cinderalla Man - I was disappointed with this. It's like a melodrama rather than Raging Bull.
    4. War of the World - bland. The 50s B movie was better (and that's not saying much).

One of the best films I've ever seen, remains "Old Boy".

Very scary with a rather creepy end scene.

sideways was very good but a bit boring in the fact that it was just repetitive wine drinking and wine chatter. best film ive seen thats recent is probably the family guy film or crash. i could blabber on aboput nuch better films but no one would have heard of them.

the worst film ive seen was revolver - absolute tosh. richie is not a good director at all, as most of the awesome parts of lock stock are down to matthew vaughn, who made the equally awesome layer cake.
