Ok I'm now confused. I thought Infa Red was what Mobile phones have for transfering files.

"Infra Red" just refers to light that falls within a certain wavelengths. We can't see Infra Red...
Mobile phones, and TV remotes use IR (Infra Red) to communicate with one another...
That doesn't mean that there isn't IR light bouncing about all the time, though. Most digital cameras can "see" IR light (well, all, if you remove the filter...) but you don't notice it because it's outweighed by visible light. An IR filter for a camera is just an opaque peice of glass, opaque to visible light at least, so that all the camera can then see is IR light.

We dont notice it beacuse our eyes are not sensitive to that part of the electromagnetic spectrumyou don't notice it because it's outweighed by visible light
