Opinions on the Sigma APO 100-300mm f4 EX IF HSM

Just after known opinions about this lens, particularly when weighed up against the Canon 70-200mm F/4?

Still trying to decide the best zoom lens for my budget for Motorsport. This, coming in at just over £500 would be my very upper limit.

Check some samples (motorsport if you can on pbase etc.) of the two lenses.

Personally I would be inclined to go with the 100-300mm, because I feel the extra 100mm would be a lot of use should you find yourself a bit further away than you would like.

dont think i've ever read a duf readup about either lens , but i cant see the point in going for the 70-200 for motor sport, get the 100-300

The 100-300 is really pulling me in. Have seen some cracking Swimming and Motorsport pictures taken with it, (among my main areas of interest) the 70-200 is gooooorgeous as well. Understand neither are going to be great low light but I don't mind!

Really want my first telephoto lens to last me a long while, so got to get the decision right.
