    Thumbs up Ridley Scott

    The man's a living legend!

He is my favourate director and IMO one of the greatest living directors around.

I have just got back from seeing the classic Alien at the cinema. I could not miss that film. I truly couldnt. It wasnt showing at my local cinema but I went out of my way to another cinema.

I saw it and of course loved it. I wish I could have seen it in the cinema for the first time because I would have jumped more than my friend did (quite a bit) and he had already seen it once!

Ridley Scott is great though, I love his films:

    Alien
    Blade Runner
    Gladiator
    Black Hawk Down
    Legend

His other work aint bad but those are his proudest moments!

    A tribute to the fellow!

OMG, Ridely Scott directed G.I. Jane?! That is one of my all time worst films. Still the mans good work far out weights his bad work.

He was an experienced commercial and adverts director before he did Alien.

He done the Apple advert that was shown during the superbowl in the 80's, think it was apples first TV as, may be wrong on that though.

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

Scott is great. I borrowed Blade Runner recently from my local library on dvd. The Film still looks fresh and real. More so than say the hideous CGI "green screened" crappiness that George Lucas seems to peddle now.

Take note people. Build a set or two. Yes it costs cash. But the film looks better and stands the test of time.

The only thing that makes it look dated is the fact that Harrison Ford looked youthful !

Totally agree with that! Gangs Of New York had a huge set and I know many people don't like the film but the sets are genuinly beautiful!

LIES... It depends what u are after. Alien was genuinely scary the first time round. But loads of people love Aliens because of the marines. They stand a chance of survival at least (not like the first team of total fodder).

So you get a lot more bang for your buck ! But Alien III. I admit sux in comparison to I or II. And the latest one !!!! Worst concept for a movie EVER. Weaver already died.... Leave the series alone.

black hawk down was a good example of his talent, granted it gets a little boring watching yet another name-less marine get hit but i think the fact he was able to get a real ranger and delta team to do all the stunts with the hawks making there drops is classic!
