    Question Copy Protection Gone Wrong?

Got myself the Old School DVD, which has a Macrovision copy protection logo on it. Now I'm not opposed to companies copy protecting their DVDs, but this one I can't even play on my PC (my main DVD viewing platform). All I get is perfect sound, but horribly pixellated / corrupted (and green) blocks where the image should be.

As far as I'm concerned, I should be able to watch this on my PC, so is there a way to make it play or should I just send it back to Play?

    Thanks

    False alarm

DVD player software wasn't installed properly.

Wonder why it still played it though?

"Copy Protection Gone Wrong" is kind of an oxymoron. How can something wrong go wrong?

On the subject of copy protection... I just bought a new CD which is "Copy Protected". All the tracksare played through some stupid proggie that installs itself. What sux even more, i can't rip it to mp3 like I do with all my CD's (more convenient)

grrr, &*$%ing copy protection £*%$, mumble mumble

You REALLY need to turn off autorun, otherwise crap like that will continue installing itself, or at least hold down shift when you put the disc in.

You need to uninstall that software then you should be good to go, though there are some other copy protection hardware standards that some drives can't rip, but it sounds like your problem is down entirely due to that software being installed.

First try uninstalling it, then run Adaware and Spybot.

Does it actually play in a normal CD player?

How about when you open something like EAC?
