    A beautiful Mind

Anyone else seen this film, didn't have it on DVD but it was on Sky movies 9 last night and i have to say it was superb. Some superb concepts and they way they portrayed John Nash's way of dealing with mental illness was superb.

A very well done film that kept me interested in what really was a fairly boring subject, made extremely interesting by some superb directing.

AND I LOVE john nash's chat up lines.

    HAHA

Yup, the oscar winning Russell Crowe film

First time I watched it a thoroughly enjoyed it! Russell Crowe simply is a superb actor, no doubting it!

Also great direction from Ron Howard.

It was a good film but no way it should have won the Oscar in 2001.
2001 wasn't a great Oscar year but the Fellowship of the Ring and Gosford Park were both generally regarded to be better films but the academy voters, who are predomately american seem to go for american sentimentality if they get the chance.
Jeez, Jenifer Connolly got the Oscar for best supporting actress playing his wife( I thought she was pleasant but wooden) and the only reason Denzel Washington in Training Day beat Crowe for the Oscar as best actor is because Crowe spent most of the time in the lead up to the voting alienating the voters by getting bad publicity for punching photographers and journalists (allegedly)
