    Smile Recommendations needed (in-ear earphones)

I want to get some new (in ear) earphones, as my Sony MDR-EX71SLs have served me well for sound quality, but I've had enough of the poor cable quality.

I'm looking for ones similar or better in sound quality, with good quality cable to last some wear and tear, in the £25~ price range.

I was looking at these from Soundwise, as someone on here recommended them in a post, and they're quite within my price range. Any comments of experience of these (or Soundwise) would be appreciated, as well as recommending similar ranged 'phones.

    Recommend and comment away!

if you can squeeze the extra, you really wont regret a pair of shure e2s (c or g according to taste). If you can live with over the head jobs, the sennheiser px-100s are fantastic, although have the sound isolation qualities youd expect from a sheet of plastic and some foam.

Sorry thats not a lot of use, but what youve got is probably as good as it gets for sound in that price range.

I agree, PX100's are great headphones. For an in ear choice at the right price try some sennheiser CX300's, great sound and good bass as long as you keep them well into the ear canal.

I was going to recommend the MDR-EX71s, but I see you have already had some Much like herulach, I would suggest the next step up would be to get some Shure headphones, as the Sonys are rather good for their price

Cheers guys. I've looked at the Shures before, though they're a little out of my price range at the mo, if I get a job I'll be getting some

Any experience with Soundwise earphones? They're still my choice, though the Sonys can be bought on eBay for much less than they are in the shops, so I may just put up with the cable quality, again, heh.

Yeah, I checked out the Sennheisers, but I'm not a fan of assymmetrical cables really, I've been using 'chain link' (or something - round the back of the neck) cables for the past 3 or 4 years now, heh. They're in consideration though thanks to the low price tag

I've got some Shure E2C-N's i really don't like their design and the quality of audio they produce isn't that astounding..i actually prefered my old Sony MDR-EX71SL, any idea if the senheisser's would be a good alternative?

I have the shure e2c's, there amazing for me, plenty of adjustment for size and the quality of the cable is great (aka its thick enough not to break like most of my headphones)

Only thing I would say, I might buy the e2g's instead because the cable is quite long.

Another vote for the Shure E2c's. Best in-ear jobs i have ever used. Some people complain about the quality and bass responce, but there brilliant - you just have to used the correct plug for you ear size/shape (you get 9 types/sizes with them and a very good case)

    Etymotic

I picked up the Etymotic e6i isolating earphones. I thought they were expensive when I got them (£60) but they're worth every penny.

I use the foam inserts, just order spares as they get grubby.

    I think I'll get slapped if I recommended my UE super.fi 5 Pro's

Although the super.fi 3 studio's are about the same price range as the sure e2c series, so worth considering as an alternative if you're going that route

    Soundwise are excellent!

    Hello!

I use the soundwise E2 and I absolutely cannot fault it for quality, sound and value for money. I really love it! I used to also use Sony MDR-EX71SLs and they are not as good (esp the cable). I am tempted by the Soundwise G3 as the reviews seem good.

    Has anyone tried the G3

The E2 is £19 and the G3 about £25 so both are excellent value, compared to the Sony etc...
