    Surround sound speakers

hello, is there anybody out there who has any of those cheap 5.1 surround sound speaker sets, they all look pretty similar but here is one of them:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/105961

theyre never going to be as good as £200 altec lansings but for the money am just wondering whether its worth it.

    cheers

    In a word, no.

It would be far better to buy some decent sounding 2.1s, it'll be much more rewarding in the long run. I have a proper (as in amp, 5dvd changer surround sound set at home - 600w) home cinema set, and the only things I have heard that have come close are the THX certified Logitechs.

Steve B has exemplified the audiophiles point of view quiet nicely

If its a 5.1 Set, then you could do a lot worse than this, that is if the budget stretches

Otherwise I would strongly suggest a decent 2.1 set - such as these or even these

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

Ebuyer are great until something goes awry - when I worked as a Network Admin last year, we were waiting 7 months for a replacement/refund from their customer service dept. regardless of how much chasing we did

Plus, if you make a few more constructive posts, the lovely chaps at Scan will give you free delivery
