    H50 screw tensity

When I installed my H50 I was a little worried about how tight to screw the screws, pump to bracket, so I did so there was little effort to unscrew them. Temps were high when idle around 40c.

I had reason to go inside my PC yesterday so double checked the screws, they had come lose so I gave them a pretty stern tightening, I checked the temps after boot and they were down to 33c as Windows loaded. Today though after running for abit I'm back at my normal temps so I had another go on the screws using all the strength in my wrist, they are solid now but I still have the usual temps.

I'm wondering if I should go back in again and be a bit merciless and do them as tight as possible, but I'm worried about damaging or breaking the product.

    What do Corsair recommend?

    My CPU is an I7 930 @ 2.8GHz (unclocked)

I don't have an exact torque rating for this. However, "snug" should to the trick. You do not need to overtighten them and I'd say that "merciless" would be overtight. Also, if they are tightened the first times like you noted, then they should not be coming loose. Check your mounting and back plate.

    Re: H50 screw tensity

Thread bump and plea for help
I have managed to crack and damage the 1366 plastic bushings by overtightening them.
Read on another forum to tighten them as far as they would go. So kept on tightening and tightening thniking at some point I would reach the strop point. But, as they are plastic there was no stop point and then had a looked and noticed that I had cracked a couple of the bushings.
Is it possible to buy some replacement 1366 bushings for my corsair h50-1.

Sometimes I think that I should never be let near a pc.
    Please help.
