    dual memory sticks

    Hello,

I was wondering if I could get your advice on memory.
I built a machine with a intel motherboard dp35dp with a core2duo. It is running at 2.66 1333. I was a newbie when I built this system I would build it differently now. I have cm2x1024-6400 800mhz 1024mb 5-5-5-12. I have never been able to run more than one stick at a time even though I've tried plenty of times. What settings will make it work? Will it work at all?

I appreciate any help with this problem.

    Thanks alot

I need ALL of the information from the stickers on the memory. Also, you need to check your BIOS and see if it allows you to adjust the memory voltage.

That's your problem right there. The memory you have: http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/CM2X2048-6400C5.pdf

is designed to run at 1.9v, not the 1.8v that your MOBO can supply. You'll either need a different MOBO or memory that will run at 1.8v.

    Re: dual memory sticks

Funnily enough, this happened to a friend of mine not so long ago (not sure if the motherboard / ram were exactly the same as yours, but same situation (max supported RAM voltage less than that needed by the RAM)), and so he ended up selling the RAM and getting some lower voltage RAM. I think it is something quite easliy overlooked when buying a new motherboard / RAM, but important nevertheless.
