The ASUS MB guide shows maximum RAM is 32GB but does not list any configuration on Authorized Vendor list showing configuration for 32GB. Corsair Memory configurator shows highest density as CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9. What gives? I called the ASUS MB help line and the tech told me that the lists on their web site are out of date and to go by the lists on the Memory Produceer (ie Corsair). When I pointed out the discrepancy between the advertisement (32GB) and the highest density listing from any RAM producer was
16GB he kept telling me the max memory RAM allowed was 32GB but wouldn't commit to what RAM producer had a DIMM listing that supported that configuration. He assured me that if I installed an 8GB card in each DIMM slot that it would work. I ordered the Corsair set CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9 but I am reluctant to open it an install it because it is not listed anywhere that I can find. Can anyone clarify the discrepancy?
Also, assuming that I drop the RAM to 16GB, all configurations I can find show using all 4 DIMM slots with
4GB cards in each. Is it acceptable to use only 2 X 8GB cards in two DIMM slots, or am I required to use all 4 DIMM slots with 16GB RAM?
