new cpu and ddr3 ram wanted

i have a gigabyte P35C DS3R mobo and 4 gig of ddr2 800 ram. my cpu is an e6300.

i want a newer cpu and pssibly ram - will sell these to raise some funds.

should i get the Q6600 go or newer quadcore or a good dual core.

if so what models should i aim for that could easily overclock for dummies and what cheap ddr3 1333 mhz ram should i get.

any help would be appreciated.

What budget do you have and what are you going to do with it? £300 would give you a massive upgrade over what you have.

The smart money is on the intel 2500K (£160) for speed and overclocking ability with a z68 motherboard eg. Gigabyte D3H (£110)and some gskill ripjaw X 8gb for £35

Add a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (£27) to keep tems down and help with overclocking.

Alternatively a second hand q9300 or good Q6600 and the gskill ram would be ok but not as fast or overclock as well or easily as the 2500K
