OEM vs Retail ?

Go for OEM if you're planning to upgrade in a year's time or retail if keeping the product for much longer.

Any difference on the quality of these two kinds of CPUs? I don't think so. The quality should be same. The only different is whether it comes with a cooler.

Considering the difference is less than a 10er I'd go with retail as you get a decent cooler which is good as a backup and the extra warranty, though I've never had a cpu fail on me.
Comes in a much more satisfying box too!

I'd personally go for Retail for the extra warranty but i've never come across a failed chip, so up to you if your on a tight budget and are going to water cooling or a NH-D14 or something.

Well, as stated before, it depends what the retailer offer for warranty and how one feels about it, thus there is no right or wrong. I bought retailer for the warranty at the time. Never fitted the stock cooler and most likely never will, there simply are better solutions out there which keep it cooler with less noise
