    Overclocking an i7 930

    Hi there,

I've been looking at overclocking my 930 for a while now. I'm due a graphics card upgrade so it gives me the perfect excuse to do this.

I came across an article a few months ago which said what batch of i7 CPUs were good for overclocking, but unfortunately I can't seem to find it again.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Appreciate any help

If you are refering to the 'stepping' then i would say you have the later better version as the 930 was released later on if i remember correctly as a replacement for the 920,although i could be wrong.

    thanks for the reply.

I'm sure there was a certain batch identifiable by serial numbers that were the 'good ones'.

each cpu has its limits, i suggest you do the same as the rest of us, keep trying until you find a speed and temp with stable voltages..
