    H100 fan upgrades

    Hello,

Apologies if i'm going over old ground but i didn't want to jump on old topics.

I'm planning on getting an I5-3570K, ASROCK Extreme4 setup and when i get round to OC'ing it i was going to fit an H100 in push/pull config.

Noise is not a concern it's performance i'm interested in, do the Delta's still hold up well in this area or is the market a little bit more open?

    Any help/advice would be appreciated

    Re: H100 fan upgrades

Just been looking this as I am due an upgrade. Well its been a couple years anyway

I looked at air and closed loop, if you are not bothered about noise the stock fans on High performance will do just fine from all the reviews I have read. Believe me I have read a few. Provided you dont mind living next to an RAF base and can put up witht he noise then fine.
My choice had I decided to go H100 or which ever was the Noctua . Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm Focused Flow
expensive but provide decent airflow and quiet. Use that on push and a Noctua NF-S12B FLX on pull as you dont need the focus flow.
Alternatively the Sycthe Big Typhoons have received good press as well. Both should give you the performance you need but not at ear busting decibels.
    Space in my skull

Deltas are still very much the daddy if noise isn't a concern

    Re: H100 fan upgrades

Volume of theoretical air is differrnt to reality when trying to cool radiator fins. Noise is turbulence, which in some instances is good (swirl into an engine at lower revs) but when trying to cool a cpu rad, maybe not. An H100 can cool a lot of cpu heat even on silent running . You'll be up against more hinderance elsewhere than cpu heat i think

    Re: H100 fan upgrades

I will probably be called a corsair fanboy but their SP120mm fans are great for radiators because of their high pressure they push through. you can also customise the colour I honestly think they would be a good choice. d-four's suggestion is also a good one, all gentle typhoons are pretty darn good!

    150.1 CFM, 50.5 dBA at 5400 RPM.

Good stats given the relative low noise they make.

Here are stats for Delta fans:

    Re: H100 fan upgrades

if noise is not a concern delta's are extremely loud and pushes threw loads of air if you get these maybe investing in a fan controller would be something to think about

    Re: H100 fan upgrades

I'd get some BitFenix spectre pro's, Bought some for my H100 and they are perfect, push a fair amount of air and aren't very noisy, Not really much point in having blaring 2500RPM Fan's on all the time, won't offer a massive gap in performance compared to some normal fans, I hate noise but it all depends on what you want

    Re: H100 fan upgrades

I have tried H80 and H100, both are pretty bad. I used akasa viper 120mm on them push/pull is great. Noisy pump, tacky tubing and very bad pump controlls
