Both CPUs are very similar in performance. However, the Q6600 is known to be decent for overclocking as long as you have a decent enough motherboard and cooler.
Won't be much difference if I'm honest. You would be better off getting a decent cooler and overclocking depending on the capabilities of your motherboard
As Cat said, the Q6600 is almost exactly the same speed as Q8300 when they are both running at stock. Here's a link the Anandtech/Bench comparison of the Q6600 and Q8200 (Bench only has the Q8200 and Q8400 in the database and I think the Q8200 comparison is more realistic):

as you can see there's almost no bench which the Q8200 wins mainly because they're both almost the same speed and the Q6600 has twice as much L2 cache.
The Q8x00's are 45nm vs 65nm for the Q6600 which means they run cooler, but because of the lower multiplier they are harder to overclock.
Still overclocking is your best bet if that Pegatron board of yours can overclock (I think it may be some Asus OEM design). Failing that, the fastest S755 quadcore were the Q9500 but they go for crazy money used and you'd still need motherboard BIOS support there too.
And if you are looking for a decent air cooler that can take any temp you can throw at it I'd recommend the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. This is the newer version of what I had.
