    4670k temperature?

Can any one who has 4670K post some idle and load temperature of their CPU?
I'm building a new PC with it and wondering if it need a water cooling when I start overclocking it?
Cox many people say 4770K is hot when idle let alone overclocking it.
    thx in adv

Not sure how useful this will be to you, but my i7 4770K idles at around 22-24C, and hits load temperatures of 50C at stock clocks, using a Corsair H80i.

It's pretty random really. Some people are getting high overclocks on low end air coolers, others have H100s raising a sweat.

    That low ijyt?
your corsair H80i must be pumping lots of heat out.
do you think its ok to use Artic Cooling Freezer 13 pro from old build?

I understand what you mean, ppl tell me that its like buying lottery
which is rubbish considering I'm paying £200 for the cpu and no way to get an exchange if you feel the too much heat is building up

Well results seem to be getting gradually better and better, it's not like 4.3-4.4ghz is going to be slow

If I get the 4770K I'll probably get the Corsair H110 as the cooler just to make absolutely sure.

    Re: 4670k temperature?

Well a little initial testing on my 4670k.

4.5ghz seems to be stable at 1.212v and the hottest core maxes out at 71c.

Cooler is a Xigmatek Dark Knight.
I'm guessing it can do more but I'm getting hungry, need to go cook supper

I want to get the H100i, but won't fit my case.
So I might get the H80i since its the one that fit my case (Corsair 300R) when I start overclocking it.
Might even buy it sooner if the CPU get over 40 on idle with my old Artic Cooling freezer pro 13

The H80i radiator actually has about the same surface area as the H100i, only instead of being a 30mm x 240mm radiator, it's a 60mm x 120 radiator. You'll just need to make sure the airflow is good through it as it's denser, and the fans have to work harder to push air through.

Theoretically you end up with about the same heat dissipation.

Its luck of the draw at the same V as Wilzz my 4670k will only do 4.3ghz. Obviously better cooling will extract more out of your cpu but people will beat you on much lower end cooling solutions.

anyway at 4.3 1.212 using a Be quiet! Shadow rock pro (off memory) when i stressed was around 68 average with max of 87.

It seems that more recent processors are getting better results. It tends to be the case that the first few batches aren't as good.

I think I'm lucky then, mine run 34 degree with 2 mon, 1920x1080 and 1680x1050. not bad on stock cooler!
no dedicated graphic card yet. focusing on GTX760
run up to 60 degree when play medium gaming.

    Re: 4670k temperature?

I'm using Asus z87 pro mobo looking for cpu cooler any idea?
    H80i?
PH TC14PE (not sure if it fit my mobo cause using all 4 ram slots the vengeance pair sticks out 5 cm and xms 3 sticks out 3cm)
or the good old NH D14?
will need to be OC ready!
