    I5 4670K crash during oc

Hello all, Im just gonna get straight to the point. I have been overclocking my cpu to 4.2 GHz without a problem. The problem I am facing is when I try to push it to 4.4 GHz. The computer will boot and then windows will say I have an error and has to restart. The error will continue until I underclock the cpu. I have only tweaked the cpu frequency and the ram speeds but I have a feeling it might be something to do with the cpu voltage.

If anybody could shed some light on a solution I would appreciate it.

    thanks!

Have you increased the voltage? What to?

Oh and maybe set RAM to default. Try to overclock one component at a time so it is easier to work out what is causing the crashes.

I have left the voltage on auto for now and I've set the ram to its default speed (1600). I'll come and check the voltage when I get back in from work.

You will need to up the voltage slightly.
    I shouldn't take a lot.

Mine maxes out at 1.224v in CPUz, I forget what this is in the bios.

Not sure if it's available on Intel mobo's but it may be an option for you to use the offset function so you can determine whether you're seriously giving your card enough voltage. OR of course, you can just up it to a fixed level.
