Finally some more reviews!!
So the 4790K is not the overclocking beast it was made out to be? Seems like just another rinse and repeat Intel chip.
It's a pity that the top-end doesn't seem to be much higher than Haswell, but at least the factory clock bump on the 4790k is nice, along with the lower temperatures.
Did I read right that the "Haswell refresh" has no different chips as the Haswell but just a bit better thermal grease and a couple of useless filtration capacitors? Practically the same as Haswell? < or it is a duck?

Also a disappointment. I'm looking to replace my CPU at the end of the month but it seems I've chosen the worst time to do it. Can't remember a previous year were both AMD & Intels chip launches have both led to such an anticlimax.
I am disappointed... I was waiting for the Z97 + Devil's canyon launch to build my new PC but seems that the wait was not worth it, and still, the current price for DC is higher than the 4770k in the UK
Looks like Intel jumped the gun / were overconfident predicting 5GHz overclocks. Still worth it for those that don't plan to overclock though just for the higher stock speeds.
For people with more experience than I - how much should we see the price dropping roughly when Haswell-E comes out?
I am wondering if there was a problem with binning and early supply for the 4790K, because apart from the lack of overclocking there are reports of some chips overheating at stock under load, which I noticed because it seems to be happening to mine which was an early one and quite a few other people around the globe are making similar reports.
Which might be related to how Intel has taken this long to push stock clocks to 4Ghz.
what is the serial number on yours.
